Elfen Lied - Lucy

Model: Kat        Photographer: Manny        Debuted: Ohayocon 2007

Inspiration: She's adorable, stylish, and she'll kill you. Need I say more?

Construction:

Wig: Originally a "perky" (light pink) China Doll wig from Amphigory.com, it was dyed with FW ink, trimmed and styled.

Horns: Hard to tell in the pics but she does have horns, which were cast in polyurethane resin and worn on an elastic cord. The lavender bows are satin ribbon, folded over and glued to the horns.

Contacts: Psych! That's Photoshop.

Necktie: Velvet ribbon, chopped up and reassembled/glued in the shape of a bow. Detatchable via Velcro.

Shirt: Stretch polyester, sewn with New Look pattern 6838 (style A), fitted tight and sleeves cropped.

Dress: Stretch velour, sewn tube style. No pattern required.

Socks: I get asked about these so often it's not even funny, so listen up: they're E.G. Smith over-the-knee stockings from Sockdreams.com. I bought them in white and dyed them light gray with RIT fabric dye. Then I stretched them over a cylindrical object the size of my leg (I think I used a giant rolled up sheet of Wonderflex). I sectioned off the socks with clear packaging tape, leaving the exposed areas the same width as the taped ones, then airbrushed the dark gray stripes. Voila. If you don't have an airbrush, try spray paint. I haven't done this but I'm sure it would work. Well, reasonably sure. Lemme know. Anyway, the holes on top of the feet were just cut out and the hem glued under. That's about it.

Shoes: Shoes by Ros Hommerson, found at Zappos.com. They were already discontinued when I bought them years ago. However, Zappos has a huge selection of similar red pumps.
